Rocks in the Basket
Whenever
we notice positive energy in our day, or when a special event
happens, or if we simply remember an uplifted moment, we commemorate
this by putting a rock in the basket. You can also read a paper
on "rocks in the basket"
(this file is a PDF, which may require Adobe
Acrobat Reader, which you can download and install for free).
Here are the reasons why we put our first rocks in the basket:
- Jaiya helped Dharmaraj retrieve
a chest of drawers from the back of a crowded storage shed.
- Mark and Keshava cleaned the gutters
of our classroom (Dogwood) and the high
school girls' classroom (Cherry).
- Jahsyln cleaned the bathroom sink
(which was harder than it may sound!).
- Julia arrived safely at Ananda Village
from Florida after Hurricane Katrina.
- Paean and her family helped organize
all the books in our library (by subject and
alphabetical by author).
- Peony (Paean's younger sister) made
labels for our library bookshelves.
- Robert solved a challenging math
puzzle (pictured next to him in his photo).
- Rachel brought in our posters from
the van.
- Keshava moved a couch with Dharmaraj
from the Cherry classroom to our library.
- McKenna and Paean made a sign
for our classroom.
- Dharmaraj ran network & phone
cables with Ric, and he crimped
the ends of the
network cable himself (with Bob's invaluable instructions
and tools)!
- Mark moved a lot of boxes of books
into our classroom.
- Paean helped Dharmaraj set up the
rocks and the basket for the first time.
