This year at Living Wisdom High School, the 9th-12th  grade science project was to build a full-scale wind-turbine from scratch following the axial windmill plans of Hugh Piggott. In the first term students learned the facts about different types of energy, renewable energy sources, and electricity. In the second term they began the involved building process. Four students carved the turbine's blades, two students welded the frame, and three wound the coils and pieced together the electronics. The wind turbine is currently installed at the Ananda Institute.
